Serving Our Community

When appropriate, our doctors will send referrals to primary care physicians or specialists to treat systemic conditions detected during the eye examination, or to eye surgeons for treatment of eye diseases or surgery. Reports are also sent to school nurses and/or teachers regarding vision problems detected in children.

Dr. Pilat and Dr. Rose currently provide the vision screenings for the Spotsylvania County Head Start Program. Head Start is federally-funded preschool program that is designed to help youngsters (3 and 4-years olds) prepare for school. Enrollment targets children whose parents fall within 100% of the national poverty guidelines.

Chancellor Eye Care has been providing eye examinations and glasses for patients of the Moss Free Clinic in Fredericksburg and Guadalupe Free Clinic in Colonial Beach since 2005.

Spotsylvania Lions Club has partnered with Chancellor Eye Care to provide eye exams and glasses for the eye care needs of local residents through the Spotsylvania Lions Club’s Adult Sight program.

If you have any eye wear that you would like to donate, the Spotsylvania Lions Club has an eye glass donation box in our Chancellor Eye Care office for anyone interested in seeing their old eye wear put to good use.
